I have always been driven to understand why people act the way they do, and how we can shape that behavior. Beginning with business and economics studies and then by way of academia, consulting, executive and management roles in marketing communications agencies and start-ups, my focus shifted from traditional marketing and brand strategy to neuromarketing and, eventually, from shaping the behavior of individuals to addressing the shared, global challenges we are facing today and achieve positive change.I have been an advisor to Fortune Global 100 companies, start-ups, government agencies, and NGOs in more than twenty countries on five continents. I have authored/co-authored 12 books that reflect my own journey, from my first book on multivariate statistical analysis through corporate image and identity, brand strategy, several books on neuromarketing, behaviour change strategies, the impact of the technological revolution and, most recently, an investigation of how the Fear Economy is changing consumer behavior and brands. I consider myself a generalist with the valuable perspective and understanding of context that comes from broad knowledge and experience. As part of this effort I instigated and contributed a collaborative Mindshare/Wiley book series, brought new methodologies to addressing clients’ challenges, and contributed to the work of Mindshare offices in Singapore, Hong Kong, Johannesburg, Istanbul, Frankfurt and London.
