Dr. Peter W. Vaughan, is Board Chair, Canada Health Infoway, and Treasurer, Supply Chain Advancement Network for Health (SCAN Health).He is former Deputy Minister of Health and Wellness, Province of Nova, CEO of South Shore District Health Authority, Board Chair, Accreditation Canada, CEO of the Canadian Medical Association, President, WebMD Canada and former member of the Government of Canada’s Innovation, Science and Economic Development Ministry’s Health/Bioscience Economic Strategy Table. He has been an emergency physician, family physician, entrepreneur, and RCAF Spec O Flight Surgeon.For his contributions to Canada’s health care system, and for his pioneering leadership in the establishment and advancement of digital health care, Dr. Vaughan was appointed to the Order of Canada in 2021.Peter Vaughan is a leader in the digital transformation and modernization of healthcare. He has pioneered initiatives to improve access to virtual healthcare, reduce wait times, and facilitate the secure sharing of patient information. A former flight surgeon, he was appointed Colonel Commandant of the Royal Canadian Medical Service in recognition of his dedication and leadership (2001-2010).
