Started out with an interest in Neurosurgery.Assisted my first ventriculoperitoneal shunt 8 years back.Gradually I understood my interest was more towards diagnostics than surgical, decided I will pursue neurology.Then in the years ahead, I slowly inclined towards psychiatry as I realized I am more interested in the Mind than the brain.2 years into psychiatry, I develop a new outlook towards psychiatry as almost all of the diseases here are brain diseases and that it should be called Behavioral Neuro-Immuno-Endocrinology.Today I come back from my final viva of Psychiatry postgraduation exam answering a question on treatment of normal pressure hydrocephalus being, ventriculoperitoneal shunt.And this memory from Facebook strikes me at a curious intersection of space-time when I had come back home having assisted the neurosurgery and having answered the same question in psychiatry viva.
