Dr Priscah Mufunde Email and Phone Number
The unifying theme in my diverse career profile is a love for learning and applying technical knowledge and skills in fields that directly impact how people experience life. From hospital beds to wedding celebrations and classrooms, I strive to understand peoples’ unique needs and deliver solutions that are tailored to them. In the process, my life has been greatly enriched. I have learnt a lot about myself; the things that motivate me, those that act as limitations to be challenged and those that I have chosen to live with. I have also learnt many valuable workplace skills and how to apply them into different contexts. I am comfortable simultaneously straddling the worlds of impact-work and enterprise and believe there is value to be gained in translating the good from one world to the other, so that both become better, more sustainable, and beneficial for all.The culmination of all my work is the empowerment of those I work with. For me, there can be no success if there is no transfer of knowledge and skills that allows others to continue on or grow the work. There can be no team if only a few are winning at accomplishing their personal goals enroute to fulfilling the team vision. And so, in every position I have held, I have looked for opportunities not only to learn but also to share what I have learnt with others.

Co-Founder And Non-Executive DirectorMakerware T/A The Maker Club Oct 2018 - PresentHarare, ZimbabweWe love inspiring and equipping young people so they can build an Africa that is productive and impacts lives and livelihoods for the good of its people and the world at large. We believe in an Africa that generates its own solutions and supports its people while sharing generously with the rest of the world. We believe that this Africa can be achieved through applying technology and research, not as the rest of the world does, but as we alone can because of our own unique identity. We teach children to take pride in who they are, to learn from the world and to find ways of applying that learning in ways that reflect their African touch. The Maker Club does this by designing and delivering coding, robotics, engineering, and 3D printing education programmes for children aged 5 to 17 years. The programmes present global STEM/STEAM trends while being optimized for the Zimbabwean/African context. They are designed to inspire all children, to engage girls to actively participate and to develop soft skills that set the foundation for life-long learning and resilience. We value equity in education and actively partner with organisations working in low resource communities. Why? Because we want to maximise on opportunities for the transformation of Africa by reaching as many children as we can, in all the places we can, because no one knows which children hold the keys to the ideas that will transform the continent.

Training And Classroom Resources DeveloperCross Over, Zimbabwe Oct 2018 - Mar 2024Harare, ZimbabweI design classroom resourcing that supports teachers in low resource communities to teach STEM/STEAM using a project-based learning approach. The resourcing is designed to be highly supportive and adapted to the context while adhering to the principles of STEM literacy and supporting learning across the curriculum so as to improve overall outcomes. I also design and deliver a training programme to equip teachers to deliver the programme effectively. My greatest joy is watching children that would otherwise never have the opportunity to engage with technology gain skills and confidence to do so and potentially change the trajectory of their lives.

Founder And Creative DirectorPmsunflower Creations Mar 2011 - Apr 2016Harare, ZimbabweCurious to discover if I had any creative abilities, I embarked on an amazing journey with PMSunflower. I learnt to use a graphic design software (CorelDraw) and developed a range of customisable event stationery products that revolutionalised the industry. I applied my love for research to understanding global event stationery trends and translated them to the Zimbabwe context. The result was a unique stationery offering with unmatched customer service. The business pioneered a number of innovative products still widely used today in both the events and promotional industry. Supporting the innovation, was the use of technologies to create bespoke products. At its peak, the PMSunflower team was providing custom stationery for upto 40 unique events in peak months. Among our customers, we had a reputation for creativity, quality, and timely delivery. Among our competitors we had a reputation for knowledge sharing and integrity. I challenged the limiting belief that I was only good at scientific thought..... and won!
