In 1996 I founded Funkadesi, an award-winning, unprecedentedly diverse band mixing Bollywood, Bhangra, reggae, funk, and Afro-Caribbean rhythms. As we celebrate 28 years together, we are honored to have won for the last two years the Chicago Music Award for "Most Outstanding Group." Our impact through our "one family" message has been studied in academia, and is testimony to the truth that we all belong.
