I am a Senior Lecturer in Public Health and International Lead at the Department of Allied Health Professions, Sports and Exercise, University of Huddersfield. Previously, I have worked as a Senior Lecturer in Public Health, Programme Director for MSc Global Public Health, and International Lead for the School of Allied and Public Health Professions at Canterbury Christ Church University. Also, I was a regular member of the Faculty Ethics Panel and University Sustainable Education group at CCCU. I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). I am trained as a Medical Doctor and have completed MSc in Public Health from Queen Mary and PhD from Canterbury Christ Church University. My PhD examined social and cultural factors affecting sexual lifestyles and relationships of Nepalese young people. I have worked with marginalised and disadvantaged communities and am particularly interested in global health inequalities and international aspects of health and education. My research areas include young people and social changes, sexual health, lifestyles and relationships, migrant health, social justice and health inequalities, maternal and child health, and internationalisation in higher education.
