Profile bio

About Dr. Raphael Eberle

Nice to meet you!Let me introduce myself, I am a team-oriented, experienced, motivated and enthusiastic scientist moved by passion and curiosity for research. As a scientist, I have always strived to get to know and apply new perspectives, approaches, and methods in my work to generate a holistic picture of the scientific question and answer it.My versatile and intercultural work style and my previous academic career are perhaps unusual. However, my time in Brazil and various stays and projects abroad paved my way to gain insights into different cultures, work approaches, related problem-solving, conflict management and hospitality. I integrate my knowledge and expertise to pass them on to my team. Discussing science with my students, colleagues, team and international partners and listening to different viewpoints help me solve existing and future problems. However, I always seek opportunities to expand my wealth of experience using my skills and abilities for the common good.Working in the academic area has taught me various skills, including interdisciplinarity, adaptability, project development, supervision, scientific writing, and presentation skills. After completing my Master's degree in nutritional sciences, I discovered my interest in interdisciplinary sciences, especially in infectious diseases. I could increase my knowledge and experimental portfolio about structural biology during my PhD. Additionally, I had invitations as guest visits at universities in Switzerland, India, China and Brazil, which allowed me to gain insight into different cultures and thinking. Based on these experiences, I built the basis for my broad scientific network and collaborations. I firmly believe that collaboration is one of the most important aspects of science. The ability to work together and pool our collective knowledge and resources is essential for progress in research. I have been working for 15 years in the research area. I successfully led my research projects (From idea to publication). My research places me at the intersection between biochemistry, biophysics, structural biology, molecular biology, cellular biology, bioinformatics, and analytics. During my career, I have gained substantial knowledge of several laboratory methods and techniques in these areas. Moreover, I have experience in working under a laboratory quality system (ISO 9001). My professional goal is to adapt rapidly to new scientific questions and continuously incorporate new methods in my work to generate a deep overall view of a scientific question that needs to be answered.
