Individual and group therapist within an integrated treatment team to provide services to veterans experiencing PTSD and comorbid mental health, medical, and psychosocial stressors. Conducted initial intakes for veterans entering mental health services, triaged, and referred to appropriate treatment clinics. Administered, scored, interpreted, and wrote integrated assessment reports with a focus on CAPS-5. Co-facilitated weekly skills, meditation, and process groups with direct supervision. Implement EFT for heterosexual and LGBTQ veterans and their partners. Completed weekly didactics and supervision in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) grounded in theoretical readings and video. Implemented EBPs in individual, group, case management, and assessment settings in both the IOP and outpatient Drug and Alcohol Treatment Clinics. Provided care for racially, ethnically, sexually, and socioeconomically diverse adults with substance use disorders and co-occurring medical and psychological conditions, including end-stage renal disease, HIV, Hepatitis C, psychosis, bipolar disorder, PTSD, personality disorders, depression, and anxiety. Several experienced psychosocial stressors, including homelessness, unemployment, and involvement in the Veteran’s Justice Outreach Program. Conducted assessments and worked with the interdisciplinary treatment team to make diagnoses and treatment plans. Interventions included CBT for depression and relapse prevention, Interpersonal and Social Rhythms Therapy (IPSRT), motivational interviewing, DBT, and ACT. I co-facilitation or facilitation of DBT skills, CBT-relapse prevention, and inpatient skills. Designed and launched a pilot study examining the effectiveness of an original group therapy protocol, Mindfulness-Based Sobriety for Substance Use Disorders, for adults with substance use disorders. Created and implemented a group treatment protocol integrating Mindfulness-Based Sobriety, ACT, Relapse Prevention Therapy, and MI. Recruited, assessed, and provided intervention to participants. Trained new group therapists on the protocol and assumed consultant role. Analyzed and presented initial outcome data. Preliminary results demonstrated significant changes in the consequences of use, mindfulness, self-efficacy during times of negative affect, and psychological flexibility from baseline to post-group. Laboratory for the Study of Behavioral MedicineConsented and trained clinicians from university counseling centers on the procedure for implementing specific eating disorder interventions in their centers as a part of a 5-year intervention implementation study. Created a database by cataloguing video data from over five years of recorded therapeutic intervention sessions. Planned and implemented community engagement programs focused on support for individuals with eating disorders. Collaborated with Colorado School District officials to provide educational and prevention programs to staff and students. Assessed needs and motivation of walk-in clients and connected them with in-house resources.
