"Velle parum est; cupias, ut re potiaris, opus est."This quote from Ovid’s 'Metamorphoses' reminds us that mere “wanting” is often insufficient; it is only through “desiring” a goal that we can achieve it.This motto has guided me since my school days and serves as my personal motto and guiding principle in my approach to life.It truly reflects my philosophy: whatever I undertake, I strive to do it to the best of my ability. Half-heartedness and minimalist efforts are not my style. I consistently aim to achieve the maximum with the resources available to me.Friends and colleagues often describe me as ambitious and perfectionistic, yet also clear, focused, direct, organised, and sometimes inclined towards dry or dark humour. I am comfortable with these character traits, as they align well with my values.As a PhD graduate in the humanities and social sciences with over 20 years of management experience—ranging from department leadership to executive roles—I follow a humanistic approach to business. I aim to embody this approach in my work as a management consultant, executive coach, and business trainer.In my view, business success primarily depends on respecting others, approaching them with understanding and empathy, and supporting them in fulfilling their desires and meeting their needs.In doing so, one can, in my opinion, also advance oneself—and in this shared aspiration (in the spirit of Ovid’s words) achieve the goals of all.
