So many people dealing with fibromyalgia find themselves also struggling with the loss of a career, a romantic partnership, the person they once were, the person they expected to become. As a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach and Certified Fibromyalgia Coach who’s lived with fibromyalgia for nearly 30 years, I see them. I am holding space for all of them: their whole story—hopes and dreams, despair and discouragement.Clients often tell me that I'm the first health professional they've talked to who has fibromyalgia and is actively managing it. It gives them a lot of hope. I take my presence as a role model seriously.I guide clients and readers with compassion, dedicating myself to those:• who fear their symptoms will keep them sidelined• who are disappointed in the fatigue and brain fog that rob them of joy• who deal with symptoms that seem to accompany fibromyalgia• who are frustrated with medical providers who don’t understand them or can’t seem to help themI began my career as an educator, then a clinical psychotherapist and counselor. This training and experience inform my coaching, as does my own personal experience with fibromyalgia. Why is my story important? It shows the reality and the complexity of fibromyalgia. It validates what people know about themselves. It answers questions, and it shows a road forward. It allows for hope. It’s the reason I coach, the reason I speak at engagements, and the reason I wrote the book Living Your BEST Life with Fibromyalgia: A Compassionate Approach to Reclaim your Health and Reimagine your Purpose. When I’m not with my clients, my husband and I do a lot of RV camping with our cats, Avery and Layla. We do a lot of travel to spend time with those we love, and to recharge. We really are able to relax when we get away from our everyday routine and out in nature.Specialties: health and wellness | fibromyalgia coaching | transformative coaching | thought leadership
