Dr. Samah is a Professor of Urban Design and Planning at Ain Shams University and the Principal Investigator of the Smart and Future Cities Laboratory (SFCL), Dr. Samah El-Khateeb combines her academic expertise and research skills to develop innovative and sustainable solutions for urban challenges. She has more than a decade of experience in teaching, research, and consultancy in the fields of urban design, smart cities, climate change, and environmental sustainability.Dr. El-Khateeb is passionate about creating resilient and livable urban environments that leverage artificial intelligence and data-driven approaches to address the complex and interrelated issues of urbanization, climate change, and social equity. She has led and contributed to several collaborative projects with national and international partners, such as the UK-Egypt HE Partnership for Climate Change, where she is a co-PI of a project on climate numeracy and urban resilience. She is also a certified trainer, a frequent speaker, and a published author on topics related to urban AI, smart cities, responsible AI, and people-centered design. She holds a master's and a PhD degree from the Urban Design and Planning Department, Ain Shams University, where she also graduated from.
