• PhD in Nuclear Science; MBA in Technology Management• Extensive experience in nuclear industry including operational management, and science and evidence-based regulatory management.• Extensive experience in operation and regulatory management of technologically complex facilities including research reactors, nuclear fuel cycle facilities, radioisotope production facilities, radioactive waste management facilities, high energy particle accelerators• High level strategic policy skills• Extensive experience in safety assessment, and developing and implementing technical safety guides, codes and standards• Excellent judgement in managing stakeholders – including cross jurisdictional, State and Territory governments, industry, members of the public and other regulatory bodies, and international peak bodies• Governance skills to ensure proper systems and processes are in place to deliver evidence-based safety outcomes• Demonstrated track record in representing Australian government interests nationally and internationally• Strong ability in terms of both influencing and negotiating as well as briefing and communicating specialist knowledge in language understandable for good governance and decision making• Ability to lead and motivate teams of public servants and professionals/specialists and highly developed executive project and program management skills
