• Responsible for real-time monitoring of all partners involved in the fieldwork across Africa• Provide technical support and backstopping to the regional hub coordinators and country supervisors in the use of all tools and applications developed for the project about the field campaign (e.g., SDMT, ODK forms, MAPS.ME and others. • Conduct training for the regional hubs and for countries where the field campaign is being initiated where and when required; oversee training at the country level when direct involvement is not required.• Oversee the Quality Control procedures and ensure that quality data is generated for all activities about the field campaign, using the processes and procedures that have been implemented for this purpose in the project. This includes the following:• Assure proper evaluation and conduct the M&E and review of the progress of the field campaign.

The Liberia Land Knowledge (Soils4Liberia) project, funded by the EU as part of the P2P programme(From Productivity to Products, linking peers to peers), aims to develop a land and soil information system for managing land and soil data and generating information on the status of the land and soil resources in Liberia. The specific objectives of Soils4Liberia are to:• Establish a fully functional land and soil information system that contains reliable primary current data. This system will facilitate managing soil data and information and generating information products according to user requirements. • Raise stakeholders’ awareness of and insight into the value of land and soil data and information and capacitate them to use such information to make decisions regarding improving land and soil resources use and management and enhancing soil-related ecosystem services for intensified agricultural production, improved climate resilience, and better protection of the land and soil resources. • Establish a functional centre that generates and manages relevant and reliable information on Liberia’s land and soil resources to inform policy formulation, intervention planning, and action execution for agricultural development, mitigation of and adaptation to climate change, and resource conservation. This includes strengthening Liberia's capacity to carry out soil surveys and land use inventories autonomously. The information provided by the centre can be used to develop strategies within the NADP to improve soil quality and agricultural productivity across Liberia.

• Organized and facilitated regional capacity building workshops on soil sampling and digital field assessment in Nigeria, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, DR Congo, Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia and Zambia• Co-developed Survey Data and Management Tool (SDMT) -an online dashboard for the management of field campaigns in continental Africa• Developed a harmonized soil survey protocol for continental Africa available in English, French and Arabic • Designed electronic forms for soil and field data collection across Africa and are available in English, French, and Arabic

• Coordinating and overseeing the field work for land and soil suitability and capability assessment;• Coordinating and overseeing the laboratory analysis (spectral and wet chemistry analyses) of the soil and plant tissue samples including fertilizer analysis; • Providing leadership support in the management of survey data, laboratory data and other, including development of ODK forms for data collection, data quality control and managing the data on the ODK server;• Supervising the development of SOPs, protocols, and templates for the data acquisition, lab analysis, interpretation of the field and lab data and for reporting; • Providing leadership in the streamlining and standardization of internal processes, from data collection, to sample analysis, data interpretation to generating advisories; • Organizing and facilitating training sessions on sustainable agricultural intensification and best bet agronomic practices; • Providing technical leadership in the development of decision support tools (DST), like interpretation guides for the results of the lab analyses for making fertilizer recommendations, recommendations on agronomic practices, for diagnoses of nutrient limitation and soil health and others; • Providing crop advisories and fertilizer recommendations to farmers;• Facilitating the inventory of DST being developed in research and scaling projects at IITA for providing advisory services;• Supervising project implementation, clients update including reporting to clients and donors; • Providing direct managerial assistance to the Agriserve General Manager

• Create overview of available trial data sources based on active search and survey, and describe these data sets• Investigate available open source data management systems that could be used for the WASHC project and document data management solutions used by related project and institutes and their experience • Establish a central repository for data sets and data management system for ISFM related data.• Develop meta-data standards for the documentation of agronomic trial data sets (ISFM related), based on existing standards• Sensitize WASHC partners, IITA projects and SR4D platform members on the use of the meta-data standards, provide open access to the data and store their data at the IITA data repository• Review data sets and provide feedback to those that want to submit data to the data repository, including quality control and assessment of ‘fitness for use’.• Compile protocols for agronomic trials with respect to data collection and measurement; compile and develop data collection templates that are used for data entry.

Research Support Officer – West Africa Soil Health Consortia (WASHC)• Providing direct technical managerial support to the project leader in project execution, management and reporting to the donors;• Providing technical support in identification and scaling up of ISFM technologies across West Africa;• Supervision and technical backstopping of all WASHC project related activities in Burkina Faso, Ghana, Mali, Niger and Nigeria;• Organizing and facilitating several training workshops on the adoption and scaling out of ISFM technologies for researchers and farmer groups in Nigeria, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger;• Facilitating wider uptake of better adapted ISFM practices with visible positive impacts on rural livelihoods of the consortia member countries
