Diagnosed with late-stage cancer June 2020. Moved from Almaty, Kazakhstan to Auburn, Alabama for treatment. In remission, stopped chemotherapy May 2024.

In 2020, conducted research and taught economics courses at the College of Social Sciences. In 2019, conducted research and taught economics courses at the Bang College of Business.

Taught courses covering oil, politics, and economics at the KBTU Business School.

Served as the Interim Chief Executive Officer of an oil and gas producer listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange operating in Central Asia with 240 employees generating oil and gas revenues from production in Kazakhstan.

Conducted research and taught business and related courses at the STEM Business School (School at Turan for Economics and Management).

Was responsible for crude oil sales and transportation arrangements using pipelines, rail, trucks, terminals, ports, and ships to markets in the Black Sea, Baltic Sea, Eastern Europe, and in the Kazakhstan domestic market.

Worked on the development of marketing and transport arrangements including coal export sales to Europe.

Was on the commercial team that developed export routes for crude oil and LPG needed for two multi-billion dollar field expansion projects at the giant Karachaganak field in Kazakhstan.

Was responsible for a 300-person department with an annual budget of $250 million for the purchase of crude oil supply at the company refinery plus logistics of 160,000 barrels / day (8 MTA) of crude oil and refined products to markets in Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine, China, Iran, Afghanistan, the Baltics, the Central Asia Republics, and the Black Sea using pipelines, rail, trucks, terminals, ports, and ships.

Was on the team that set up and operated the crude oil export sales routes from Texaco’s North Buzachi field in Kazakhstan through Russia and Ukraine to European markets and across Caspian Sea through Azerbaijan, Georgia to the Black Sea.

Was on the team that worked on acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, location trades, marketing of transportation / terminal services and managed the commercial development / operation of a 30,000 mile (50,000 km) pipeline network in US.
