As the Chairman of the Department of Music and Director of Bands & Winds Activities at Virginia State University, I lead a team of talented faculty and staff in delivering high-quality music education and performance opportunities to diverse and talented students. With over 19 years of experience in music education and conducting, I have developed a strong curriculum that integrates research, theory, and practice, and that aligns with the Quality Matters standards for online and blended learning.I am passionate about sharing my musical knowledge and skills with others, both in and out of the classroom. I have published articles in peer-reviewed journals, presented at national and international conferences, and conducted workshops and masterclasses for various audiences. I have also performed as a trumpet soloist and guest conductor in various venues and events, showcasing my versatility and creativity as a musician. My mission is to inspire, empower, and mentor the next generation of music educators and performers, and to contribute to the advancement and appreciation of music as a cultural and artistic expression.
