About Dr Sandesh Gawas

I am a insect taxonomist, teacher and a wildlife researcher fascinated by the amazing world of insects. I have been documenting insect fauna from India especially Goa and has made significant contribution to the research on wasps and butterflies.I have compiled the first checklist of Vespid wasps (Hymenoptera: Vespidae) of India and has also created the online database for the same (https://databases.nbair.res.in/Vespidae/vesp_index.html). Me and my team has so far discovered 4 new species of parasitic wasps.I am the member of IUCN-Commission on Education and Communication (2021-2025)
