Dr. Kula is an advocate with over 20 years of comprehensive leadership and management experience in both the public and private sectors. As current President and Chief Operating Officer (COO), Dr. Kula oversees the Corporate Social Responsibility department, including public policy and equity efforts focusing on achieving inclusive economic growth by leveraging government, business, public policy, data, nonprofit and philanthropic expertise. Along with her activism for women's empowerment, veterans and military families, Dr. Kula has nearly two decades of legislative, appropriations and political experience in the U.S. Senate. Named by Politico as Capitol Hill’s top staff to know given her expertise as one of the few women to become a U.S. Senate Chief of Staff, the second woman to be named Chief of Staff to the Chair and Vice Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, her extensive bipartisanship and negotiation experience within the legislative and executive branches of government, as well as defense and national security, economic and social justice, women’s health and equity opportunity work. As a military spouse, breast cancer survivor and first in her family to attend college, Dr. Kula has a deep personal understanding of the challenges and opportunities within our nation’s communities and is dedicated to making a difference.
