Managed all facets of state and federal programs such as Title I, Title II, School Improvement Grants and Race to the Top Grant, including preparation of budgets and financial reports/analysis. Provided guidance for development of school and district improvement plans while ensuring compliance and support of school system improvement efforts. Developed multiple compliance and school improvement plan protocols that maximized available funds, greatly improving student performance and teacher quality while enhancing district-wide achievement. Significantly improved the overall school improvement planning process for Title I schools, working closely with the Georgia Department of Education to devise/implement a successful program structure. Steered all programmatic and fiscal activities for federal programs in schools and departments; met grant expectations and successfully prepared for state audit of all federal programs in June 2013.

Challenged to lead transformation of the lowest performing schools in the district to higher rates of achievement. Served multiple schools including: three high schools; two middle schools and 13 feeder elementary schools. Managed multiple budgets inclusive of $34 million Race to the Top; 3 School Improvement Grant budgets valued at nearly $1 million each; and individual middle schools budgets at approximately $1 million each.

Oversaw and led staff in the most diverse school in district, serving a 50% refugee population with approximately 1,000 students representing 52 different nationalities and 47 spoken languages.Quantifiable Results: Led Clarkston High to achieving Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) in 2009 for the first time in the school’s history.  Championed improvement on Georgia High School Graduation test, increased Math scores from 76% in 2006 to 91% improvement in 2010 while increasing Special Ed student scores from 13% to 44% in the same period. Realized significant gains in Graduation Rate, increasing from 51% in 2006 to 81% improvement in 2010 with Special Ed students advancing from 24% to 60% and English Language Learners (ELLs) from 23% to 64%. Accomplished 7% gain in writing tests, increasing from 81% to 88% between 2009 and 2010 despite large percentage of students lacking English language proficiency.
