At Open Doors to Future Possibilities, we provide low-cost counseling to under-served community members for only $10 an hour; provide resources and deliver food, water, clothing, other supplies to our homeless Veterans and their families at Santa Clara County; and provide food and clothing to our homeless neighbors. At Academy of Contemporary Narrative Therapy, with my team of stellar and highly esteemed educators, we train students to become effective Narrative counselors.

I teach Clinical Psychology, Theories and Methods of Counseling, Psychology of Trauma, Psychology of Prejudice, Psychology of Personality, Psychology of Women, Capstone Courses on Narrative Therapy, Schizophrenia, Trauma and how to work effectively with Veterans.

Have been successfully providing numerous trainings and workshops on different subjects related to mental health such as depression, anxiety, anger, suicide, traumatic experiences, psychosis (Schizophrenia) including panels of those attending my "voice hearing" groups sharing their stories of recovery and victory over unhappiness.

Provided targeted treatment and rehabilitation services to the survivors of torture, refugees, asylees and asylum seekers and their family members from different countries who were struggling with the devastating impacts of their traumatic experiences and mental health problems while trying to adapt to their new environment and creatively respond to the acts of microagression, prejudice and discrimination. Also provided them with assessment, crisis intervention, treatment, and discharge planning.

In two separate research studies, I created a non-pathological assessment tool for Personal Agency (Personal Agency Questionnaire: PAQ; Lundquist 2012, 2015) to be used as an outcome measure in the beginning, during and at the termination of therapy. Reliability and Validity has been established for this measure. Three new variables were introduced in the second research: gender, perception of being overweight and fat-acceptance, and factor analysis was conducted on the data from 280 participants which increased the total reliability to .90. Provided Narrative therapy to culturally diverse clientele who are diagnosed with Axis I, Axis II, and dual diagnoses with the assumption that problems are constructed in cultural contexts including power relation of race, class, sexual preference, gender, and disadvantage. Providing circumstances in which clients can have more possibilities, contributing to story initiatives that have been lost as a result of traumatic experiences, and helping resurrect clients’ sense of agency through enhancing egalitarian relationships and multi-voiced dialogical interactions.
