Dr. Sitaram Taigor has been working for last 13 years in the field of Conservation and management of aquatic resources, Wildlife conservation, River restorations, community engagements, outreach & communication, policy & advocacy especially working in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan along with the states Govt. Departments. Dr. Taigor has completed his M.Sc. (2002) and Ph.D. (2009) in Environmental Science with specialization on aquatic biodiversity and Wildlife management. After completion of Ph.D. thesis, he has conducted and involved in projects in various capacity such on Setting of ecological monitoring of Kuno Wildlife Sanctuary funded by Zurich Zoo, Development of River Health Index through local stakeholder participation and action planning of Yamuna River funded by UNDP-GEF/Small Grants Programme, Yamuna River Restoration Techniques Development Project funded by Thames River Restoration Trust, UK, To prepare a Directory/ Atlas of Community Conservation Areas in Madhya Pradesh (12 Districts) funded by M/S NR Management Consultants India Pvt. Ltd (NRMC), New Delhi, Threats of Sand Mining on the nesting of Turtles and Gharial in the National Chambal Sanctuary Madhya Pradesh Funded by the Madhya Pradesh State Biodiversity Board, Water School Project funded by Swarovski and Presently, working in Biodiversity pillar of River Basins, Wetlands & Water Policy, WWF-India to run HSBC Water programme, River for life, Life for River. Dr. Taigor has published more than 17 research papers in National and International reputed journals, 2 books, 9 progress reports and various newspapers articles on environmental and biodiversity issues. He has 4 years of teaching experience for teaching P.G. students of Zoology and Environmental Science on wildlife management and biodiversity conservation besides supervising dissertation of two P.G. Students of Delhi University and currently co-guide for a Ph.D. student.
