Dr. Sofia G. Papadaki, received her diploma in Chemical Engineering (2008) from National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). In 2010, she successfully completed her M.Sc. degree with honors in Organization and Management of Industrial Systems with specialization in Energy management and Environmental protection Systems at University of Piraeus (Department of Industrial Management & Technology) and NTUA (School of Chemical Engineering). On July 2014, she finished her PhD degree, at NTUA's Laboratory of Organic and Environmental Technologies (LORET), in the scientific area of integrated processes for biomass exploitation, emphasizing in the recovery of natural dyes and other natural fine chemicals of high added value. Currently, she is working on her Postdoc Research “Development of novel nutraceutical products based on encapsulated microalgal bioactive compounds in nanomatrices” funded from Greek State Scholarships Foundation (IKY) at NTUA's Laboratory of Process Analysis and Design (LPAD). She is the author or co-author of more than 50 papers published in refereed journals and scientific conference proceedings. Her published work focuses on the integrating biomass treatment procedures emphasizing in drying and extraction technologies. She has great experience of working on European Commission funded long-term projects and of projects proposal writing. Moreover, she has worked in international well known research centers such as Wageningen UR in Netherlands (Unit of Food and Biobased Research) and The Russian Academy of Sciences N.M. Emanuel' Institute of Biochemical Physics (Moscow). She has great expertise in drying, hydrolysis and extraction techniques of biomass for recovery of poly-, mono- saccharides, proteins, antioxidants, amino acids, fatty acids and natural colorants.
