Stan is an applied sociologist specialising in contemporary forms of discursive violence, social alienation and social deviancy. He focuses on how the family and its relationships are structurally vulnerable to broader social discourse that alienates and manifests as narrative abuse in family relationships. Stan is interested in structural change, policies and practices to address such dynamics.He is an Adjunct Fellow in the Faculty of Society and Law UniSC, researching discursive violence in the form of parental alienation as a significant social and public health issue. He focuses on how to address structural social, psychological, and legal reforms.

Dr Stan Korosi PhD provides specialist consulting services in the field of social alienation, stigmatisation and alienated or alienating relationships that include child psychological abuse and coercive family violence. He also leads assessment and specialist remediation services in these fields ordered through the Family Court of Australia. He has specialised in this field for more than 10 years.

As principal and director I developed a presentation on parental alienation for practitioners and practitioners who are parents. This was based on my personal and professional experience.I have given this presentation three times in 2011 to my colleagues and now work with alienated parents to reunite them and their children.

I am a counsellor and psychotherapist specialising in parental alienation. I decided to specialise in family ruptures and specifically parental alienation after my own experience of being an alienated parent. I have both professional and personal experience of this form of child abuse, which is yet to be fully recognised in Australia, although family law is becoming more and more familiar with it.A group of colleagues and I have formed the Parental Alienation Association of Australia and New Zealand (PAANZ) to provide services to children and parents affected by parental alienation. We aim to have parental alienation recognised as a form of emotional child abuse that is on par with sexual abuse and to develop services to support affected children and parents to which they may be referred through family law pathways or otherwise self refer.We also aim to have the family court and family law change the way they assess parental alienation in family separations and to articulate high conflict separating families into intervention program. These programs will be designed to support and reconcile alienated children with alienated parents and to help alienating parents change their behaviour where parental alienation has been established.Above all, we want to prevent it from happening because once the children are alienated it is often too late!
