Currently serving as the Deputy Director of the Institute for Technology and Innovation Management (TIM) at Hamburg University of Technology (www.tuhh.de/tim). Prior to this role, I held a position at the Chair of International Management at Hamburg University, where I served as the provisional head between 2000 and 2005.In my capacity at TIM, I co-lead the research programs "Global Innovation" (www.global-innovation.net) and "Mobile Commerce" (www.mobile-prospects.com). Since 2007, I have also been the program coordinator for the international Joint-Master Program "Global Innovation Management" (www.globalinnovationmanagement.org), which I co-founded. My primary focus in research and teaching revolves around "Global Innovation Management" and "International Business Strategy," particularly delving into questions related to internationalization and the international division of labor. As the Managing Director of the Center for Frugal Innovation (CFI) at Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), I lead a multidisciplinary team of researchers and practitioners who explore and promote frugal innovation as a key driver of social and economic development. Frugal innovation is the process of creating high-quality and affordable solutions that address the unmet needs of resource-constrained customers and communities. With over 10 years of experience in this field, I have developed a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities of frugal innovation in various contexts and sectors, such as health, energy, education, and mobility.With extensive experience as a management consultant and coach, I also oversee the industry-related service portfolio, including externally funded projects, at TIM. In 2007, I played a pivotal role in initiating the series of India Weeks in Hamburg, collaborating with institutional players such as Hamburg's state government, Chamber of Commerce, and other organizations. I continue to contribute actively as a member of the steering committee for this initiative. In an honorary capacity, I hold the position of deputy head of the Hamburg Section of the German-Indian Round Table (GIRT) (http://www.girt-hamburg.de/).As a member of esteemed associations, including the German Academic Association for Business Research (VHB), the Academy of Management (AOM), and the International Society for Professional Innovation Management (ISPIM), I am committed to contributing to the academic and professional landscape.
