Dr. Stephan Thaele is a Medical Doctor and medical entrepreneur with a robust background in pre-hospital, hospital, and the healthcare sector. He has a strong foundation in emergency medical and pre-hospital medicine and excels in management, leadership, and medical education. He earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB.ChB.) from Stellenbosch University, graduating in 2013. After completing his medical internship at Tygerberg Hospital, he did his community service at Mitchells Plain Hospital, spending most of his time in emergency medicine. Most of his clinical career was spent working in the pre-hospital medical space, including volunteer work for both volunteer ground ambulance and Air Mercy Services (AMS).Dr. Thaele's entrepreneurial path led him to found Advanced Global Medical Solutions (AGMS), a company offering specialized medical services to the hospitality and filming industries. In 2023, he co-founded Driving Health, a platform designed to skill and equip multidisciplinary medical staff for the mobility sector, enhancing their ability to provide medical services to remote communities through advanced technology.In his professional career, Dr. Thaele has held significant roles, including Founder and CEO of AGMS and Co-Founder and Medical Director of Driving Health PTY Limited. Under his leadership, Driving Health is at the forefront of integrating technology with healthcare delivery, striving to transform healthcare services in line with the principles set out by the Health Professions Council of South Africa.Dr. Thaele holds the following certifications including Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and is an Instructor and Faculty Member of Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS). He is also actively involved in wilderness expedition medicine and trauma care. Dr. Thaele is multilingual, fluent in English, Afrikaans, and German. His early passion for medicine was sparked by his Basic Life Support (BLS) paramedic certification at 18 years and spent time as a volunteer EMS member. This dedication has been a cornerstone of his career, complemented by notable achievements such as summiting Mt. Kenya and Mt. Kilimanjaro within a single week in 2019.
