Stuart has over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry and specialises in forensic delay, disruption & risk analysis, project controls, claims management, dispute avoidance and ADR.He has produced delay, disruption, concurrency and prolongation analyses to prosecute and/or re-butt claims, on a diverse range of projects such as nuclear and coal fired power stations, hydroelectric, desalination, water treatment and recycling plants, large span bridge constructions, port developments, roads and railways as well as a broad range of building construction projects including, hotels, libraries, apartments, car parks, healthcare facilities and data centres. He has also successfully implemented recovery programmes and strategies on many delayed projects.He is an accredited expert in forensic delay analysis by the Academy of Experts (TAE), has been appointed as an independent expert witness regarding time related matters on many occasions and has presented both written and oral expert testimony (including hot tubbing) at numerous international Arbitrations including ICC, DIAC, ACCD, ACA and Ad-hoc.Stuart has an in depth knowledge of FIDIC, NEC and JCT forms of Contract and focuses on collaborative contract management. He completed his PhD in collaborative/ partnering contracts and risk apportionment in construction in 2002 and since then has focused on the avoidance of disputes through effective project controls, planning and risk management, as well as in the early resolution of contractual claims where possible. Stuarts earlier career consisted of training as an architect and working in the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and private practice. An MSc in Construction Project Management led to contributions to a number of high profile UK Government funded research projects for a range of organisations such as the National Audit Office (NAO), the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM) as well as the Barker Review Committee which investigated the time and cost benefits of various Modern Methods of Construction (MMC).Stuart also has extensive experience of lecturing and the delivery of training workshops on project management and forensic planning and has authored and co-authored numerous papers and reports.Stuart's other interests and areas of experience include Off-site Manufacturing (OSM), Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Information Management (IM) and he is passionate about the development of more sustainable buildings and technological solutions.
