I received my B.Stat (Hons), M.Stat, and Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Science degrees from Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata in 1975, 1976, and 1977 respectively. After post-graduation, I served the industry as a Systems professional for nearly 28 years before joining academics in 2005 as a professor. I headed the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Neotia Institute of Technology, Management & Science till May 2018. I joined National Digital Library of India (NDLI), a Project developed by the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT KGP), under the aegis of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India in June 2018. My first job was with ORG Systems, Baroda, an R&D wing of Ambalal Sarabhai Enterprises Limited where I was involved in a FORTRAN Compiler construction project. I served two large PSUs in manufacturing as head of systems and managed several complex projects including ERP implementation. I was a visiting Professor at the Department of Business Management, Calcutta University. My subjects of interest include Automata Theory, Compiler Design, Data Mining, and Privacy-preserving Computation. My area of research was in the security of collaborative computing. Data mining and machine learning are also my areas of research interest. I received my PhD. degree University of Calcutta in April 2019.
