Current Job title: Study director and Principal investigatorShort Bio sketch: In 2008, I graduated with a Biotechnology honors, from University of Kalyani, West Bengal, India and in 2010, I completed my masters in Biotechnology from Utkal University, Bhubaneshwar, India. In 2011, I joined department of Biochemistry and Medical biotechnology of Calcutta School of tropical Medicine, Kolkata, West Bengal as a junior research fellow. In 2013, I registered as PhD candidate in Jadavpur University, Kolkata, West Bengal. During my doctoral studies, I gained experience with Chikungunya and Dengue virus, with particular attention to the mechanism of virus action, host virus interaction and discovery of antivirals (using different in-Silico and in-vitro approaches). I am always curious about virus epidemiology and evolution, during my PhD, I also work on understanding of the genetic diversity and evolutionary dynamics of rapid mutation in virus. I received my PhD in life science and biotechnology in 2019. In the same year I joined Artemis as a post-doc scientist. Presently, my research focused on viral vaccine development using structural vaccinology in-silico (bioinformatics) and in-vitro (assay development, Cellular imaging, fluorescence microscopy) approach. We are also working on understanding the immune enhancement which is also known as antibody dependent enhancement (ADE) due to the closely related strains of viruses (e.g. Dengue) and antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC). Since I joined Artemis Bio-Support, I has been involved in multiple projects: delivering a radical innovation in dengue virus vaccine development (DRIVE), funded by EUROSTARS and THERAPRO - Early preclinical development of the first broad-spectrum antiviral treatment for tropical diseases, funded by MIT R&D collaborative grant. With my training as a cell biologist/virologist on various aspects of virus-host interactions, I am well versed in handling experiments with BSL-2 and BSL-3 viruses (viz. ZIKV, CHIKV, DENV, SARSCoV-2).
