CurrentThe job profile involves independently planning, managing, prioritizing and reporting of DNA cases following established SOPs. The Laboratory examination includes performing microscopic, chemical and immunological tests on biological evidence, extracting DNA by multiple extraction protocols, Performing and documenting current validated amplification kits such as Globalfiler STRs, Powerplex 21, and Y-STRs etc and conducting complex examination of casework samples on genetic analyser platform. Interpretation and evaluation of serological and DNA typing results with sound scientific knowledge, statistical and analytical interpretation.Preparation of analytical reports with effective results of analyses. Visiting district and high courts for providing expert testimony on laboratory findings in trials and criminal hearings.Assisting freshly recruited and less experienced examiners under direct supervision.Visited Crime Scenes at Delhi NCR region along with other team members, meticulously examining the site, collecting suitable evidences, transporting them for further analysis The administrative work includes managing case section (ensuring chain of custody), maintaining laboratory records, expanding quality assurance checks into laboratory operations, managing purchase of DNA/Serology Chemicals and store items.Ensuring compliance of safety rules and regulations.Providing scientific sessions related to forensic evidence preservation and training to police officers, medical practitioners, judicial officers and scientific fraternity at National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Science, India.Reviewer for elite journals Main research focus is to determine trends of child sexual assault cases and its role in reporting and conviction, homicide trend and impact of preservation and ageing of forensic blood stains and developing a modified DNA analysis protocol, Experienced in running an independent project as well as being part of a team.
