This research work includes the analysis of high strain rate of the different polymer materials (Polyurethane, epoxy composites and epoxy syntactic foams), metallic materials (Armour steel, Mg Alloys, OFHC copper, iron, titanium alloys, Al alloys and its composites, Al foam and its composite foams) and ceramic materials (Quartzite, gneiss and basalt rock) using SHPB Technique. The microstructures of joint similar/dissimilar materials were examined by using optical microscopy and SEM. During my experience as a senior research fellow for more than three years, and during project work, the functionally graded armor composite and its foam materials have developed. Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar Technique and Shock tube experiments were carried out to study the high strain rate behavior of aluminium composites and its foam materials under dynamic compressive loading. The failure analysis of different materials such as polymers and metals at the high strain rate has studied.
