Todd Hand is a veteran of over 33 years of law enforcement, serving with state, county, and city, receiving certifications from state police academies in Pennsylvania, Maine, and Florida. A policing practitioner and a common-sense academic with experience and education, working at several large law enforcement agencies, and with a long history of teaching.Extensive scientific research and writing experiences in academia with wide-ranging policing, supervisory, leadership, and investigative expertise. Dr. Hand’s latest publication with ProQuest Academic Publications titled: “Finding, Testing, and Selecting: Has American Policing Changed Their Approach in the 21st Century?”, where this study challenges the current policing hiring strategies and practices. The research cautions against the infiltration of impostors that attempt to influence law enforcement policies, practices, and training-education. Flesh Collectors, Open Road Media); Wicked Attraction, Fascination With Death; (S5, E4). Hand was selected and graduated from The Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s Senior Leadership Program (Class 12), and holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminology from Penn State University, as well as a Master of Science concentrating in Forensic Psychology, and a Doctorate in Criminal Justice specializing in Domestic and International Terrorism, both from Saint Leo University. He is a member of the Alpha Phi Sigma National Criminal Justice Honor Society.Hand instructed at the Florida State Police Academy for several years, teaching the investigation of violent crime, property crime, and human trafficking, as well as defensive tactics and firearms qualification. As a graduate assistant, Dr. Hand was selected to instruct senior level undergraduate courses in cold-case homicide investigations at Saint Leo University, and taught as a full time Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice for Unity College, where he instructed numerous classes in criminology, deviant behavior, police ethics, servant leadership, professional law enforcement writing, cold case homicide investigation, mandatory senior level capstone classes, and fly-fishing.
