OVERVIEW:I was brought back to KSB following my previously successful experience with the company. For this director position, I was fully responsible for all aspects of the Aftermarket Services operation, including leadership and motivation for a team of about 30. Collaboration was perhaps the essential requirement in this role, as I worked closely with Sales/Marketing teams, executive leaders, and OEM factories in such areas as strategic planning, product deployments and management, services, and overall business development.HIGHLIGHTS:★ Reversed prior issue with actively serviced OEM pumps in the Americas region. Achieved 50% increase in annual sales growth for Aftermarket Services through effective resource management involving 6 regional service centers.★ Introduced solutions to fix warranty cost-related problems; implemented KPIs to monitor performance, revamped the warranty process, and instituted NCRs and CARs. Reduced warranty costs by 30%, affecting increase of year-end RBIT, and improved customer retention.★ Addressed problems with shipping and receiving. Revised existing process, trained and cross-trained team members, and integrated KPIs. Mobilized additional resources to combat backlogs. Drove shipping and receiving performance to 100% within 6 months and eliminated LD penalty payments.★ Strengthened inter-departmental teamwork by integrating cross-functional principles, refining product management strategies, creating a common platform for information exchange, and holding “Lessons Learned” meetings. Minimized repeated issues, expedited problem-solving, and improved customer satisfaction.★ Initiated new methods for documenting QA guidelines for the shop and operations such as Process Control Procedures that defined the process upfront and eliminated ambiguity. Improved product and service quality, minimized deficiencies, and decreased number of warranty cases.★ Improved team performance via a transformation to a “Learning Culture.”

OVERVIEW:Initially, I was hired to address challenges in Engineering Services and subsequently promoted to Director position with additional involvement in operational strategies.Leading and coaching a team of engineers and engineering support staff across our HQ and worldwide subsidiary locations, I reported to the VP of Operations while providing management consulting and leadership in business development.An important aspect of my tenure was to create a framework for knowledge sharing and process improvement. As such, I created Engineering service strategies for various OEM pumps and systems, engineering standards, structured processes, templates, and tools as well as our annual Global Engineering Conference.HIGHLIGHTS:★ Reversed key issue with inadequate engineering/technical supports. Steered full transformation of Engineering Services that positioned Hydro, a non-OEM company, to compete successfully against OEMs.★ Led development of Engineering Standards Handbook (unique for the pump repair industry), completed 50 standards and implemented across the worldwide locations. Reduced warranty costs by ~30%, improved customer confidence, and ensured top quality for Engineering Services.★ Reversed stagnant sales by launching new, complementary services. Played key role in ~30% sales growth in 3 years through services that differentiated Hydro, enabling them to gain slogan “Complete Service Provider under One Roof” and provide advantages in delivery schedules.★ Drove improvements with specific product (critical to safe operation of most nuclear power plants in the U.S.). Paved the way to achieve higher profit margins and ensure timely delivery of pump, increasing customer confidence and outperforming OEMs.★ Led Emergency Readiness Programs to expedite responses to emergent service requests. Achieved significantly higher RBIT for selected emergency pump repair jobs and tests. Increased customer confidence and positioned Hydro above its competitors.

OVERVIEW:I was transferred to the company’s corporate R&D division in order to support development activities on a larger scale, with a focus on improving efficiency in the development process. Leading a global team of engineers across Germany and India, I reported to the Senior Manager of R&D. The primary value I brought to this position was leadership combined with expertise in the development lifecycle, including design, prototype manufacturing, testing, and troubleshooting. Supporting customers, and internal stake holders, I served as a subject matter expert in all development phases, from concept to rollout.HIGHLIGHTS:★ Due to high demand and market potential, led development of pump to handle froth (complex multi-phase flow applications) in mining and mineral processing industry. Achieved success on pump recognized as one of the most innovative on the market; gained 2 patents and immediate customer orders.★ Addressing issues from surge of requests for pump performance improvements, introduced strategies to reduce development cycle time. Implemented new programs, tools, cross-training initiatives, and the optimization of results evaluation/validation processes. Strengthened development cycle through lean management principles that reduced delivery time into half.★ Deployed a product management program to meet demand for larger capacity and more efficient pumps in the global energy market. Held full accountability for 2 pump series products. Introduced new, improved designs, facilitating on-time market launch and positive impact on sales.★ Created robust computer calculation program to respond spontaneously to customer inquiries regarding potential issues (e.g. abnormal operating conditions affecting pumps).★ Enabled Sales team’s ability to sell pump units as turbines by leading the development of new pump curves into the selection program. Helped raise the reputation of Sales with the company’s key customers vs. competitors.

OVERVIEW:I was recruited and hired to execute the full scope of R&D projects for our corporate R&D division in Germany, reporting to the Senior Manager of R&D. Planning and directing pump-related projects in a collaborative effort with the parent company, I led activities in pump design, prototype manufacturing, testing, and troubleshooting activities.This role was a valuable stepping stone for me in my industrial career, and I made a concerted effort to provide the highest level of internal and external support.
