I am a practicing artist specialising in film, video, dance and performance. My areas of expertise are film and video installation (16mm and digital) and performance. My PhD, entitled 'Of Space and Time. Film and the Female Performer', covered notions of haptic visuality, intermediality, the pretty and decorative image, the work of theorist Luce Irigaray, turn of the 20the century female performance and feminist art practice. My video installations have been exhibited at amongst others, The Lethaby Gallery (London), The National Gallery (London), The Rochelle School, Galerie des Beaux Arts (Nantes, France) and The Courtauld Institute, (London). As part of my practice, I created The Whoopee Club, a pioneering and acclaimed burlesque performance site-specific experience, juxtaposing live art and dance with vaudeville and burlesque traditions. I directed acclaimed shows in venues such as The Porchester Baths, The Masonic Temple in Liverpool St, The V&A, The ICA, The Thames Festival, Fierce Performing Arts Festival (Birmingham), after show events for PunchDrunk's The Masque of the Red Death, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Cafe de Paris, The Atlantic Bar, The Cobden Club, The Blackpool Winter Gardens, The Blackpool Grand and The Blackpool Tower Ballroom.
