As a member of the leadership team I worked closely with the chair this year to initiate an external review of the education programs in our department. As the primary person responsible for the creation and implementation of the programs (since 2008), I was happy to hear the results of the review. This position requires strategic planning, forecasting, and innovation, along with the ability to make decisions without bias, and promotion inclusion and diversity within the department, school, and university.

She is the founder and chair of The Dayton Think Tank, a gathering of the top 50 crisis leaders in the region. As a civilian, Oroszi has received training from the FBI through two programs in 2018 and 2019 and is president of the Dayton InfraGard chapter. Oroszi and has shared her research on American terrorists with NSA, at Quantico, and members of Congress in DC. Her subject matter expertise in terrorism and crisis leadership has been recognized in media, including print, web, and T.V., and as an invited speaker at national conferences for military, government, and industry leaders. Along with several journal publications, she is a co-editor and contributing author of “Weapons of Mass Psychological Destruction and the People that Use Them,” Praeger ABC-Clio, The American Terrorist: Everything You Need to Know to be a Subject Matter Expert, Greylander Press (a book covering 4 years of dedicated research on American citizens charged with acts related to terrorism). In her free time, Oroszi started writing a fiction series about a female FBI agent that is frankly not a very good agent. She drops cover, occasionally loses her temper, and has a few too many unsanctioned kills. Operation Stormfront: From Weatherman to Wall Street, book one in the series was published June 2019, and book two, Operation Deep Dive: Back into the Past published Sept 2019, and novella book 2.5, Mr. Smith Goes to North Korea, published Oct. 2019, and her first graphic novel, based on Operation Stormfront, March 2020.

Developed and implemented the CBRN Certificate Program within the Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology, Boonshoft School of Medicine, which offers live webinars from industry experts, tours, and other unique offerings. Designed to provide military and civilian professionals in the CBRN field an in-depth understanding of a wide variety of threats. Create curriculum, recruit instructors from the Battelle Memorial Institute and the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, and teach a class. Key Accomplishments:• Developed and implemented the online program in 2012. The original two classes were started in 2001 with our PTX adjunct faculty from Battelle. The third course was developed by Oroszi in 2010. • Program currently averages 25 students per year and in 2015, expanded the program to the national level with funding by the BSOM, achieving profitability in the first year, 3 years ahead of schedule.• Worked with WSU and BSOM to offer a special government employee rate due to interest from several federal agencies.• We’re pleased to announce we have had global interest in the program, with students joining us from various countries, including France, New Zealand, and Canada.

Previously I held assistant director positions in the dept. for the graduate program and STREAMS (short term research program for underrepresented minorities and students with disabilities) and my work with CLASS (creating laboratory experiences for students with disabilities). 2009: Developed a new five-semester non-thesis track and a CBRN Defense graduate certificate program 2010: Recruited NPR Science Correspondent to teach a Communication in Science course2011: Spearheaded the Quarters to Semester Conversion for Pharm/Tox, effective Fall 20122012: Hired NAMRU Branch Chief to teach BK/BD (Competency-based Education model). CBRN Defense Certificate approved utilizing two Battelle scientist-driven classes and one Case Studies Course created by Oroszi 2014: Rebranded the non-thesis track to become the most popular Leader/Admin track, a blending of business, admin, and science. Hired Six Sigma Master level adjunct to teach and certify students in this track. Created a new Leadership course.2015: Negotiated a special in-state rate for military and government interested in CBRN. (July 2006 – 2011) Act as liaison for all correspondence between the Laboratory Animal Research Facility and the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology. This included monitoring of fiscal issues with Laboratory Animal Research Facility. I met with Laboratory Animal Research Facility veterinarians regularly to discuss inspections and other issues pertaining to our department. I monitored all Animal Use Protocols, amendments, and continuing reviews submitted by department to and from Research and Sponsored Programs and submitting such documents for some faculty in the department. I attended meetings on behalf of Faculty, Laboratory Animal Research Facility, Research and Sponsored Programs, and The Department of Pharmacology with regard to sensitive matters to include controlled substance uses and inspection failures.

From Feb. 2007 to Jan. 2013, acted as Laboratory Manager/Research Associate (promoted from Research Assistant, July 2003 - Feb. 2007) for the School of Medicine, managing new and current students and visiting scholars. Oversaw all equipment, inventory and ordering or reagents and supplies, developed and implemented laboratory SOPs.Key Accomplishments:• Developed significant expertise in lab animal handling and surgeries, drug injections, and post-op care, as well as genotyping, primer design, mass spectroscopy, DNA extraction, PCR, real-time PCR, Northern Blotting and other molecular laboratory techniques.• Assisted graduate students and researchers in clinical laboratory research, designed experiments and authored Animal Use Protocols, Amendments, Continuing Reviews, and created and maintained a database for animal inventory for department and university use.

FBI Citizens AcademyApril 2018 – June 2018. The 8-week curriculum is similar to the traditional methods used at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia, but is geared toward non-law enforcement participants. The course included several lectures on select topics, Use of Force training, Fingerprinting, Polygraph, SWAT demo and weapons firing day. July 2018 – Quantico VA, FBI led training and information sessions: Behavior Analysis Unit (BAU) Lecture on Criminal behaviors and motivations, and mini workshops, including bombs, evidence recovery, lessons learned and best methods.
