Business Unit Manager Compact Magnetic Resonance (Cmr)

Karlsruhe Area, Germany

My role and responsibility was to newly create & then grow the business unit CMR (BU Compact Magnetic Resonance) within Bruker BioSpin GmbH. With the orientation on industrial customer segements, mainly in the food, body care, polymer and fiber industry the BU CMR was planned to complement the divison MRS' orientation which was mainly focussed on customers in scientific research. To reach this goal I have successfully created a product management team, an application development team and identified and further built up a worldwide team of BU CMR sales experts and application specialists within every major world region,. And additionally created an external network of distributors and agents as second sales channel to leverage the sales coverage. Our major new product and application introductions during 2011- 2016 have been: a) 'minispec Toothpaste Analyzer' to measure the fluorine Content in toothpaste and mouth wash in a faster, more precise and cheaper way than any other method, b) 'minispec sample automation' to provide a unique 'one-stop-solution' with: minispec analyzer + sample Automation/tempering for many important customer applications from SFC (Solid Fat Content), droplet size Distribution Analyzer, Toothpaste Analyzer to Polymer Analyzers, c) new 'G-Var droplet size Distribution Analyzer' for the fat industry. In 2014 the divisional structure of Bruker BioSpin was changed and all former business units had been integrated in larger, partly newly created divisions. The former Business Unit CMR was integrated into the newly built Division AIC (Applied, Industrail & Clinical). My new role and job title within AIC division is 'Market Manager FFB (Food, Feed & Beverage)' now having a wider scope of responsability in regard to number of product lines and turn-over than before in the BU CMR.
