About Dr Thomas Janovsky

I am a clinical psychologist working in private practice at The READ Clinic. I have over 7 years experience working as a psychologist predominantly in private practice but have also worked for the Department of Communities and Justice and as a university counsellor. I completed my Bachelor of Psychology (Hons1) in 2015 and combined master of clinical psychology and PhD in 2023 investigating the relationship between early maladaptive schemas and interpersonal relationships. On the side I have published research and periodically tutor, lecture and coordinate post-graduate psychology units at the University of New England. I am also a Member of the Australian Psychology Society (MAPS) and APS College of Clinical Psychologists Fellow (FCCLP). I believe in scientifically informed psychological assessment and treatment and use evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills training and family-based interventions. I am also certified in the delivery of Trauma Focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (TF-CBT) for children and young people. I work with both children and adults but working children and families is my interest area and makes up a large part of my referral base.
