In addition to performing duties as a Collegiate Assistant Professor, do the following: interview and hire adjunct instructors for the Korea region; evaluate faculty teaching methods; under direction of the Dean’s Office, act as the chief academic representative in the Korea region; create and administer training for best practices in streaming and hybrid modes of instruction, as well as ongoing training and assistance with the learning management system (D2L); assist in faculty support, issues, and advocacy for both general issues for faculty assigned to the Korea region, and for issues with distance learning technologies for all faculty in UMUC’s Asia Division.

Provided expertise on bat echolocation behavior and Anabat call file analysis for project with the United States Geological Survey Columbia Environmental Research Center evaluating the sustainability of ecological communities after habitat restoration in northeast Indiana. Assisted in field work during spring 2015 sampling period.

Taught 4-5 sections per semester of evening courses in intro Anatomy and Physiology (including lab), Environmental Biology, and Foundations in Science 101 (interdisciplinary, general science course). Developed and used primarily hybrid (i.e., part online, part on-campus) delivery models. Actively contributed on committees to improve content, delivery methods, reference materials and activities for Foundations in Science 101 and A&P courses, including a complete redesign of FDSCI 101. Assisted in a field-based ecology course taught from horseback Spring 2012. Secured funding for, planned, and completed an undergraduate research project on bat ecology in north-central Utah summer 2013. Research project required management of a team of 6 undergraduate students, and resulted in 6 poster presentations at the BYU-I internal conference (fall 2013), and 3 posters at the Boise chapter of the Wildlife Society meeting in Mar 2014.

Taught a 30-student section of Comparative Chordate Anatomy, both lecture and laboratory (BIO 3429), and 100-student section of General Biology (BIO 1306).

Taught labs as instructor of record and lectured as necessary for lab courses in General Genetics, General Biology, Human Anatomy and Physiology, and Mammalogy. Helped coordinate and adjust course materials and content as needed. Occasionally substitute lectured for supervising professors.

Volunteer position. Represented graduate student interests to Baylor University administration. Organized and ran academic and social activities for Baylor grad students, and lobbied administration for graduate student interests. Successfully lobbied for parking permits for graduate student teaching assistants, and a stipend for GSA leadership beginning with the 2007-2008 incoming leadership.

Taught classes in English conversation to adults and children. Also taught a basic creative writing course.
