Torch Recruit is a start up arising out of the Department of General Practice at the University of Melbourne which has developed a software platform which GPs can use to automatically identify patients who are eligible for clinical trials based on information in their electronic medical record. Torch Recruit aims to facilitate people throughout Australia to access clinical trials through their GP. Torch Recruit software has been used to successfully recruit over 3,000 patients to academic and commercial clinical trials through primary care.

Part-time roles undertaken whilst working clinically as a GP. Coded novel algorithms to analyse very large sets of primary care patient clinical data. Translated results into clinical insights published in peer-reviewed journals and departmental reports. Undertook qualitative research project into attitudes of primary care staff towards sharing health data with researchers as part of the Academic Registrar program. Lectured and tutored MD students.

Internship and HMO1 (2014-15): St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne.HMO2 (2016): Monash Health.Locum HMO and registrar psychiatry and ED roles (2016-17). Commenced RACGP training (2018), passed exams and obtained my FRACGP (2021). Worked as a GP at Mackie Road Clinic in Bentleigh East until November 2021.
