I lead the creation and application of cutting-edge photonic technologies, e.g photonic integrated circuits and quantum photonics, to solve complex challenges and create value for our clients and partners. My responsibilities include:• Building and managing a high-performing team of engineers, physicists, and project managers, who work on diverse and exciting projects in various industries• Developing and executing the strategic vision and roadmap for our specialty, aligning it with the company’s mission and goals, and ensuring its continuous improvement and growth• In line with our vision, creation of novel and secure IP for our clients by filing patents in photonics, optics, and quantum fields and leveraging these innovations to create value in their business sectors• Managing the investment portfolio and budget for this field, allocating resources efficiently and effectively, and delivering high-quality results within time and cost constraints• Engaging and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, such as senior management, clients, suppliers, academia, and industry associations, to establish and maintain strong relationships, identify opportunities, and generate leads• Networking and influencing key opinion leaders (KOLs) in photonics and optics, to showcase our expertise, raise our profile, and enhance our reputation• Developing the value proposition and competitive advantage of our photonic technologies and solutions, and leading the commercial activities, such as marketing, sales, and business development, to drive revenue and profitability

- Adapted existing inverted microscope to perform standard OPT using OPTiM adaptor plate- Aligned optical components for optimised transmission and fluorescence imaging (operator of class 4 laser)- Constructed advanced OPT system, combining a piezo objective drive, electrically tunable lens, mechanical translation stage and stepper motor- Analysed accuracy of optical and mechanical components

- Constructed operating software within Labview environment, providing GUI link between hardware components and software- Developed object-based simulation software for OPT, implemented in MATLAB with optional acceleration through CUDA enabled GPU- Developed calibration GUI software operating as a plugin for ImageJ (open-source image processing software), written in Java- Managed code libraries using Git version control software- Devised new reconstruction method that enhanced ability to accommodate instabilities within the OPT system

- Created initial concept design, with redesign after consultation with manufacturers- Coordinated manufacture of custom parts through internal workshop, and integration with commercial products- Verified design suitability and analysed limitations by testing plate in a standard and non-standard situations- Enhanced design by replacing aluminium design with 3D printed plastic option, removing reliance on external manufacture.- Prototype installed in external facility where it can be accessed by researchers throughout Imperial College, providing further feedback for improvements

- Formulated first fully mathematically representation of reconstruction artefacts caused by diffractive nature of OPT versus ray-picture of X-ray CT- Pioneered new mathematical relationship between clinical X-ray cone-beam CT and non-telecentric OPT
