Dr. Torsten Schütt has studied Technical Cybernetics and Automatic Control at the University of Rostock (Germany). From 1989 to 1992 and from 1994 to 1996 he was employed as scientific assistant at the Institute of Electrical Engineering of the University of Rostock. He has a PhD on the modelling and simulation of doubly fed generators and lectured on the field of renewable energies. In 1996 Dr. Schütt joined the wind turbine company Nordex as a head of Electrical Engineering. He has built up this new department and was in charge of the introduction of inverter-controlled speed variable generators and the operation control and monitoring system Nordex Control. In 2003 he was one of the founding partners of W2E. Dr. Schütt is the head of Electrical Engineering. Since 2019 Dr. Schütt has been Managing Director of W2E Wind to Energy GmbH. He is co-owner of European patents. He published 15 papers in different journals.
