In this role, I take care of techno-commercial aspects of Preclinical Discovery & Development Service portfolio.

In this position, I was the techno-commercial lead for DMPK team that consisted of 80 scientists. My responsibilities included technical, business and people management aspects.

In my current position, I lead a team of scientists engaged in biological experimentation supporting drug discovery (medicinal chemistry) projects. My group's activities include assay developmet & screening, in vitro ADME assays, bioanalytical method development and in vivo PK studies. In addition to management of scientific activities, I also travel to meet clients for new business opprotunities, and represent the company in both scientific and business forums.

My responsibilities included recombinant protein expression, assay development, ADME assays and bioanalysis.

I was the lead biologist in a drug discovery program and provided screening support for the medicinal chemists. I developed various assays for proteases in fluorescence format and performed enzyme kinetics to evaluate lead compounds. I also performed in vitro ADME tests for the program.

I worked as a senior post-doctoral scientist in the lab of Dr. Paul Roche, NCI in the area of Immunology. Using molecular and cell biology techniques, I studied protein interactions in immune system cells during exocytosis.

I worked at the Department of Biochemistry, Medizinische Hochshule Hannover, Germany as a visiting fellow of Alexander Humboldt Foundation in the laboratory of Prof. Dr. Heiner Niemann. Here I studied the mechanism of action of Clostridial neurotoxins in neuronal cells and showed that toxins recognize their specific substrates in neurons based on unique protein sequences.

At Astra, I worked on developing enzyme assays for novel drug targets for drug discovery efforts for tuberculosis and use this assay for screening of compounds.
