The nuclear structure studies of isotopic chains of iodine and gold are performed using the skyrme Hartree-Fock-Bogolyubov method. These calculations are based on the axial Harmonic Oscillator single-particle basis for the expansion of quasi-particle wave functions. It iteratively diagonalizes the Hartree-Fock-Bogolyubov Hamiltonian based on the Skyrme-forces until a self-consistent solution is found. The UNEDF2 and SKP interactions are used to perform the calculations. The various properties investigated in these objectives are potential energy curves, quadrupole deformation parameter β2, nuclear electric quadrupole moment Q(b), the binding energy per nucleon, ∆B/A, one-neutron separation energy, two-neutron separation energy, shape coexistence, single-particle energy levels, nuclear charge radius, neutron rms radius, proton rms radius, and neutron skin thickness.
