Design of reinforced concrete & steel structures of varying degrees of complexity.

1. Research work carried out during my employment as a research associate on high strength concrete corbels with steel fibres as shear Reinforcements. One goal was to find out whether it would be feasible to use steelfibre reinforcement as a replacement to shear steel reinforcement in order to change the failure mode from non ductile to ductile failure. This however, led to PhD thesis 2. Teaching Associate for 2nd/3rd year Civil Eng.,3.Test for Industries- (Additional Duties): 4a) Liase with the clients on - planning and execution of the work programme. 4b) Sampling and testing of material elements both in the laboratory and on site.4C) Analysis of test and technical data & preparation of draft reports Road work Surveyors; Interviewing local people and Road/Bridges users, Filling up forms for statistics analysis to widen roads, bridges etc.

Assisting in the design of roadwork.b) Surveying/levelling & Supervising of staff.e) Site inspection and measurements. g) Checking the construction work with agreed plans & specifications etc… Together with other duties as assigned by Project/Senior Engineers.

Provide technical advise and looking overall the project from concept to Construction- Projects involved to-date:- (1)- Sang Stage I- Nov.2011 to-date: Sang Housing Project. Design and build project; building 5900 Villas for officer and soldiers. Contract value SAR 7.8 Billion. Contract duration 48 months.(2)- Sang stage II- Design & Build building services with ring roads. Contract 24 Months. (3)- King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture - The approximate Contract value is SAR 1.8 Billion and the duration of contract is 27 Months. Project Started in May 2009.(4)- March 2008- May 2010- Technical Manager - Princes Noura University for Woman. Project consists of design and build 13 No. Academic Areas, 7 Administrative buildings, housing facilities, 5 Connecting bridges, 2 research centers, Medical Center, Student Amenities, Research area. Contract Value 12.5 Billion Saudi riyals. Contract duration 30 Months.

Provide Technical and Engineering Support to Construction Team. Looking overall the project from concept to Construction phase:-

The approximate Contract value is SAR 12.5 Billion and the duration of contract is 24 Months from receiving site. The project consists of four packages with different buildings.(3)- Fleet Maintenance Hangers Facilities - Riyadh & Jeddah, the approximate Contract value is SAR 650 Million and the duration of contract is 18 Months.(4)- Ministry of Finance Project, Al-Nakeel, Riyadh. The project consists of designing and building around 32 buildings. The approximate Contract value is SAR 980 Million and the duration of contract is 28 Months from receiving the site.(5)- Najd International School, Riyadh. Master plan consists of 2 wings, North & south wing. The south wing is for the kindergarten & girls and the south for boys education These 2 buildings are separated by the Administration buildings for boys & girls in addition to a museum area auditorium catering 788 persons. Other utilities in the project as swimming pool, basket balls buildings and parking areas. Estimated total area is 91218 sq.m

Burj Dubai Development - Project involves construction of 3 high rise buildings, two of 38 floors, one of 34 floors, which are connected by a podium/basement structure of 9 floors. This structure has three basement levels of car parking, a ground floor containing retail units, a further level of parking, and four floors of apartments.The overall floor area measures 155,000 sq.m and the total number of apartments is 667. The approximate Contract value is AED 588 Million and the duration of contract is 24 Months. Key Duties: Day to day operations and planningManaging a large multi-discipline design team for the design development of the project. Overall management of projects, Project planning & scheduling in the pre-construction phase of projects.Management of the design phase of assigned projects in co-ordination with the engineers & consultants.Prepare Sub-Consultancy Agreements Provisions for (Architectural, Structural, MEP, Landscape and Interiors) and maintain the data base of potential sub-consultants. Attend all senior management follow-up progress meetings & Co-ordination meetings.Follow up with the project schedule and ensure the completion as targeted and against agreed budget and within agreed timescaleEnsure that the project is coordinated well internally as well as externally with regards to design programme (planning and Execution).

Responsible for the structural design and supervision of the Engineerng and CAD office- Working closely with Architects and structural engineerings on the design of fabric canopy structures.

Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia & Abu Dhabi, UAE.Duties/Tasks & Responsibilities(1)-Day to day operations and planning(2)-Run the Company from A-Z(3)- Provide overall direction and Management of the Company utilisation of resources including personnel, technology and physical assets such as the factor machines and buildings(3)- Consult with staff and review their recommendations and reports(4)- Guide the preparation of reports, budgets and forecasts and present them to boards of Directors(5)- Help in selection of Senior staff(6)- Authorise funds to implement policies and programs (Training and Purchase)(7)- Visiting other Companies/Practices, conduct presentations, introduce our Company Engineering and Design services (8)- Decide on the Company objectives, policies and program and set standards and targets(9)- Assess the performance of the company, the design and fabrication team and their activities.(10)- Represent the Company in negotiation and meetings, conventions and seminars and liaise with other companies(11)- Travel to National & International destination when needed (12)- Work regular hours but often I used to work longer hours include evenings and week ends due to nature of Business

Responsible for all aspects of schemes from initial enquiry to final account including: attending pre-qualification meetings with clients, preparing tender programmes, method statement and risk assessment.Creation of detailed design proposals, structural steelwork design including fabric and fabric attachments.Working closely with Architects, Structural Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers and day to day Project Management and erection processes.

Lecturing and supervising final year Projects for BSc and BEng Civl Engineering Students and running a research programme on recycled concrete materials plus writing up research papers and proposals for research, publications and test for industry.
