I have taught various information technology (IT) subjects at a Career and Technical Education (CTE) high school within the Jeffco Schools school district, one of the largest in the state of Colorado. I just finished my 16th year of teaching 11th and 12th graders the subjects of computer science, cybersecurity and machine learning. I teach Python, networking, TCP/IP, cybersecurity topics such as using Kali Linux, and a variety of other subjects in my jam-packed school year.I came to Warren Tech out of a 20-year long IT career that saw me going through increasingly responsible roles in a variety of areas: networks, programming, databases, mainframe, and customer support, to name a few.I learned a lot of my IT skills while working at Xcel Energy, one of the largest publicly-owned gas, electricity, and alternative energy utilities in the US. I have written 14 study guides for a variety of certifications exams, primarily in the Windows Server space, but also for CompTIA Project+ and Adobe Flash. I have also written a variety of magazine articles, and I have been a speaker at various technical conferences across the country.I am a life-long learner (as one has to be if one is to keep up with the plethora of new computer technologies), and I continue to earn technical certifications and refine my skills in the industry.
