I am originally from Hot Springs, Arkansas, and have been serving in ministry for more than 25 years.In 1998, after completing my Bachelor of Science in Education at Baylor University, I returned to Hot Springs and worked as the Director of Youth Ministries for First United Methodist Church. Four years later, I moved to Texas to continue in ministry while attending seminary at Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University; in May of 2006, I received my Master of Divinity. I served as Associate Minister at Christ United Methodist Church in Plano, Texas. During my time at Christ UMC I was able to expand youth mission opportunities, grow and train the adult leadership team, lead various trips and retreats, preach weekly, and build countless meaningful relationships. Within the Plano community, I spoke at schools and various organizations, consulted with churches and non-profits, and served as a chaplain for the Plano police/fire department.From 2011-2019, I served at First United Methodist Church of Allen, TX, as a new church planter. We started Living Life Church, a new United Methodist Church, in January 2013, were I serve as lead pastor. During this time I also had the opportunity to serve as a chaplain with the Allen Police Department, become a certified life coach, and completed my Doctorate of Ministry. I enjoyed making lasting friendships within the community through the church, chaplaincy, Leadership Allen, and various community organizations. In 2019, I began serving as a minister at First United Methodist Church of McKinney.I am happily married to my loving wife, Amy. Amy is also a graduate of Baylor University and Ouachita Baptist University and owned her own Kumon Learning Center for 10 years. She currently enjoys working for the American Heart Association. We met in college as leaders in Young Life and continue to work as a team in our day-to-day lives. We have three daughters and one son.
