Bat and GIS researcher

My main filed of interest is biology, and currently I am finishing my PhD thesis at the Institute of Speleology "Emil Racovita", Bucharest, Romanian Academy. The focus of the thesis is bat migration, ecology and spatial distribution in the western Black Sea area, with study cases regarding wind farm impact upon bats, both onshore and offshore, but also how to mitigate bat fatality at wind parks with low costs for the managers.I am working as a part time consultant for EPC Consultanta de mediu as a geographer, specialized in GIS analysis and mammal biology, especially bats. During this time I had the pleasure of working in various projects, from studies regarding conservation of protected natural areas or certain target species, to environmental impact assessments (green bridge placement, highway positioning, wind farm mitigation etc).I am a Marine Mammal Observer, working since 2016 with dolphin ultrasounds in various Oil and Gas Projects Offshore - (specialized in Passive Acoustic Monitoring - PAM, but also effective with a tele-DSLR camera and an ultrasound detector for other marine life, such as birds and bats).
