Short term consultancy conducting an evaluation of the Context project an initiative of the Start Network, led globally by Oxfam GB with the support of UK Aid - which is a comprehensive, dynamic staff development programme for humanitarian organisations. Conducted analysis of 350 learning essays using NVivo 11, using the Core Humanitarian Competencies Framework as the framework of analysis.

Developing a strategy for engaging all stakeholders involved in refugee assistance to contribute articles to the Urban Refugees website, drafting press releases for the organisation in addition to other articles and leading any research projects which URBAN REFUGEES wants to undertake.

Thesis titled “The nexus of displacement and urbanisation: assessing the vulnerability levels of the urban refugee and slum populations of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania”.

Delivered and developed content for the Spatial Planning module which is part of the MSc programmes in Real Estate and Planning, and Urban Design and Planning.

Delivered an interactive flooding resilience workshop to Scottish primary and secondary schools.

Worked in an advisory capacity on a capstone urban refugee service provision project. Acting as a consultant on developing a research project for the International Rescue Committee with the aim of discerning which organisations in Dar es Salaam are providing urban refugees with services.

Completed two projects for the International Development division, producing briefing papers to inform ongoing policy discussions on several aspects of international development strategy.

Investigated and took appropriate action (including serving statutory notices) to secure the cessation of unauthorized planning consents.Worked in development management processing planning, advertisement, listed building and other statutory applications.

Produced feasibility reports, design and access statements, environmental impact statements and supporting statements, which involve identifying the main issues of the site and collecting the relevant data (site visit, policy analysis, planning history of the site and surrounding locality).

Work shadowed various planners in the areas of development management, policy planning and enforcement planning, including completing site visits.

Supported the Shelter and Internally Displaced People (IDP) Programme Officer in compiling a set of publications on urban development in Somali cities, focusing on basic services, economic development, urban governance, and city strategic planning.

Assisted two Ph.D. students on nitrate leaching and genomic selection research projects.
