I began Mama's Boy the summer going into my third year of undergrad, inspired by the entrepreneurship focus of the Bay Area Immersion Program. Throughout the summer I was busy six days a week filling orders for pies, cookies, cakes, and miscellaneous desserts. Beyond the baking I managed the inventory and finances with an $800 starting budget. Instagram and Facebook were my main avenues for attracting business, reaching upwards of 2,000 potential customers per post. I developed three original recipes, including the beloved Gooey Cherry Chip Cookie of which 37 dozen were baked and sold between July and September 2018. I also catered 15 summer events during that two month timeframe.

Wrote copy for the LGBTQ advocacy organization’s website.Planned the annual “Justice and Equity” fundraising event.Filed endorsement questionnaires for public office candidates.Helped defeat anti-trans ballot measure I-1552.
