Lead instruction to 150+ 6th and 7th grade students per day based on approved curriculum objectives in an urban education environment.

•Collaborated directly with the Principal to manage administrative operations to improve students’ academic performance and student-teacher relations within an urban education environment.Key Highlights:•Served as key component in the candidate selection process to interview and evaluate prospective teachers for the history and physical education departments.•Identified chronically absent students and contacted parents to develop strategies to improve attendance; this resulted in a noticeable decrease in absences by 20+ students.•Served as a member of the planning committee to coordinate Senior Night festivities for graduating students while remaining within a $10,000 budget.•Collaborated with the Positive Behavior Intervention Support System (PBISS) to provide behavioral reinforcements and reduce classroom interruptions.

•Managed game day operations including but not limited to: refereeing football and basketball games, managing the scoreboards, and overseeing pre-and post-game operations at Ypsilanti Middle School.

•Managed a classroom comprised of 25 kindergarten students to provide instruction based on approved curriculum objectives.Key Highlights:•Managed the after-school program on Fridays which entailed monitoring children while developing engaging extracurricular activities to support physical and mental development.•Partnered with the YMCA to provide physical fitness activities including but not limited to: basketball, baseball, soccer, hockey, and volleyball.•Converted to a full-time teacher in September 2019 upon student expansion.•Adapted to the COVID-19 pandemic by teaching 100% remotely via Zoom and Google Classroom.

•Duties were similar in scope to the aforementioned role with emphasis on teaching physical education to students in the 6th – 12th grades; also taught mathematics, social studies, and science as needed.Key Highlights:•Spearheaded, managed, and implemented an after-school basketball club which attracted 40+ students; this led to an academic increase amongst students due to the minimum GPA requirement of 2.70 to participate.

•Directed the operations of boys’ and girls’ baseball, basketball, wrestling, soccer, football, volleyball and swimming teams.Key Highlights:•Managed two athletic renovation projects throughout the internship; hired an external contract to improve the baseball facility by adding new gates and fences ($50,000 project) as well as the upgrade of additional turf to the football field ($850,000 project).•Implemented a student tutoring program which resulted in an academic performance increase amongst 10 underperforming students, consequently allowing eligibility to play.•Served as Varsity Football Coach; the team participated in both the district and regional championship games in 2017.
