About Alex Stol, Phd

Alex is a Director of Adaptive Evaluation. Our purpose is to help organisations become more healthy, adaptable and humane through evolving measurement and culture. We use advanced approaches for measurement and evaluation to help people and organisations deliver results when they are undertaking complex initiatives. As an example, a key area of our work is making culture transformation more effective through tracking and steering the various initiatives as organisations build towards their aspired culture.Alex had an early career as an economist, and subsequently a psychologist, both disciplines deeply informed by scientific measurement. In 2003 her PhD measured the impact leadership development programs have on individuals and organisational performance. Using her PhD findings and developing other evaluation methods, Alex has been applying complex evaluation in multiple contexts and roles leading to her current work in Adaptive Evaluation.Over the last twenty years, she has held senior roles in corporate financial services and professional services and built two organisational psychological businesses. She has worked across education, community, government, and corporate sector originally based around leadership, then building out to embrace a more systemic approach with culture and measurement.Alex has worked with Adaptive Cultures on client partnerships since 2015. In 2022-23 she joined as one of the owner-directors working full-time on large scale organisational transformations. In 2024 she continues to support Adaptive Culture’s strategic direction and impact in the world as an owner partner collaborating closely with the business and its wider community.
