I earned my Ph.D. in Microbiology & Immunology from the University of Miami and a B.S. in Microbiology and Biotechnology with a minor in Aerobiology from Florida Atlantic University. During my doctoral studies, I developed the first neonatal mouse model of intestinal infection using human-isolated strains of Yersinia enterocolitica, a project that marked a step forward in understanding mucosal neonatal innate and adaptive immunity to this pathogen.After a decade in academic research, I decided to shift my focus to independent research in gut and skin microbiome. This transition allowed me to pursue my own interests in microbial pathogenesis and chronic inflammation, specifically in relation to hair and scalp health. Today, I specialize in addressing hair loss and scalp issues, often driven by microbiome imbalances and environmental factors, by combining trichology principles with scalp microbiome health.As a practitioner and educator in Florida, Georgia, and Puerto Rico, I offer services in scalp micropigmentation and hair transplant scar camouflage. I’m passionate about integrating trichology principles with permanent cosmetics to help my clients achieve their cosmetic goals to renew their confidence.
